The leading banks in the global league tables held onto their places better than firms did last quarter, as issuance volumes dropped in the U.S. but grew slightly in Europe. According to league tables provided to Total Securitization by Dealogic, issuance in the U.S. was down across the board in all sectors except for asset-backed securities.
In CDOs in the U.S., only seven underwriters came to market with 11 deals. Morgan Stanley led the way with a single $2 billion deal, while Citi and Deutsche Bank followed with three deals each for a combined notional value of $1.16 billion and $1.02 billion, respectively.
