Aleris International has filed a reorganization plan that would allow it to emerge from bankruptcy and leave the rolled aluminum product manufacturer in the hands of investment funds that financed its bankruptcy. The funds--affiliates of Oaktree Capital Management, Apollo Management and Sankaty Advisors-- would backstop a $690 million sale of shares and debt in the reorganized company. The proceeds would be used to pay credits and finance operations of the company.
