We've recognized the best and brightest in the U.S. securitization industry and now it's Europe's turn. We've made a few changes streamlining the categories and rolling emerging market nominations into the other asset classes. Also, as a point of explanation we should note that we're honoring 2006 efforts only. A little late in the year, we know, but the reason lies in a move we made back in the spring.
When we originally called for nominations for the Annual Securitization Awards, we did so globally. It was later decided that the awards would be split between the U.S. and Europe. We pledged at that time that we would keep all the European nominations we received and review them for the European event in the fall. We did, and those and others we received in a later call for nominations are what we ended up considering. Through voluntary submissions as well as extensive interviews with market participants, we've come up with this list of luminaries in the European securitization market.
