CMBS Firm of the Year 04/17/2008 05:34 PM

Morgan Stanley

In a year where getting any deals done was tough, Morgan Stanley stood out for its placement and execution. The bank was lauded for the tight pricing it was able to achieve on its deals, as well as its ability to support transactions it had originated with competitive bids in the secondary market.

The bank also closed a number of notable deals last year, including the $1.75 billion American Tower cell phone tower securitization; the $4.9 billion MSC 2007-1 IQ14 securitization, a massive conduit for a single bank; and the $1 billion Sovereign Banks CMBS, a heavyweight in the small-loan CMBS arena. Kara McShane leads the capital markets team at the bank and Warren Friend heads up CMBS banking.
